Letter: Yes on Prop. 30

Published: September 25, 2012

Thank you for covering the Sept. 20 rally in favor of Proposition 30.

The students and educators who organized the rally have a critical interest in this proposition, but I urge all voters to recognize that investment in education is an investment in a thriving California for everyone.

Many voters are understandably opposed to any tax increase. Please consider that Proposition 30 is an efficient use of our taxes. It is specific and temporary funding of true education costs, not administrative costs. Maintaining our educational standards is a longterm benefit to our shared economic and social interests, a wise investment for all taxpayers.

Please vote “yes” on Proposition 30 for urgent support of our schools.
