Kudos to Bailey Brown, a resident and professional in our community. In spite of bigotry and violence, she has chosen to take the highest road. Because of Ms. Brown’s sexual orientation, she has been harassed and threatened, even to the point of leaving her home for safety reasons at the request of police (The Tribune, Sept. 20).

How can the residents of San Luis Obispo County allow this to happen?

We support Ms. Brown as an individual and an educator.

We stand on the side of love, believing in the inherent worth and dignity of every person.

Come on, San Luis Obispo County residents; stand up for tolerance, fairness and love of one another.
