Perilous promotion 12:29 p.m. Sept. 10, Highway 46 and Theatre Drive

A human signage employee from Quiznos was asked to leave the area.

Not everything’s nice 3:47 p.m. Sept. 10, 1191 Creston Road A man was sitting on the sidewalk, smoking out of a pipe. Officers contacted the man, who was smoking spice.

Cars are for the bird 8:12 p.m. Sept. 10, 1215 Spring St. A transient was flipping off traffic.

Dirty work 8:15 a.m. Sept. 11, 26th Street A man was going through the debris from vacuums at a car wash. It was assumed he was looking for anything of value, but the owner said it would put the vacuums out of service until fixed the next morning.

It’s a case of mistaken identity 8:21 a.m. Sept. 12, Pioneer Park A man was digging up a tree and pulling it out of the ground. An officer talked with the man, who said he was trying to rescue a woman’s leg, because she had been absorbed by the ground. He was asked to leave. There was no damage to the tree.

Fighting words are no laughing matter 5:42 p.m. Sept. 12, 3400 block of Park Street A resident said someone he didn’t know told him via phone that he wanted to fight. It was later determined the resident’s cousin was playing a practical joke.

Early java run 4:39 a.m. Sept. 14, 1497 Creston Road A 12- to 14-year-old boy was at Starbucks ordering coffee. Officers picked him up and turned him over to his mother.
