KCBX radio host wins award

Tom Wilmer, a Morro Bay-based travel journalist and KCBX radio host of “Audiolog,” recently won first place at the annual conference of the Outdoor Writers Association of California.

Wilmer was recognized in the 2012 Excellence in Craft contest for his “Birth of Titanic” radio series. Wilmer was also among the three finalists for the association’s 2012 Writer of the Year award, according to a news release.

The Outdoor Writers Association of California is a nonprofit association of media professionals who cover outdoor recreational opportunities and related issues in California and the West.
