The Mustangs are ranked 23rd in both major FCS football polls

Riding the momentum of three straight wins, including a win 28-20 win over rival UC Davis on Saturday, the Cal Poly football moved into the top 25 in both The Sports Network FCS poll and the coaches poll released Monday, the first time the Mustangs have been ranked since Nov. 21, 2010.

Cal Poly was ranked 23rd in both polls.

 

The Mustangs (3-0) moved to the Big Sky Conference this season, and won their first Big Sky game Saturday at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.

Cal Poly has the conference’s top-ranked rushing attack at 328 yards per game, which is third best in the FCS, and boasts the 13th-ranked defense in the nation.

The Mustangs travel to North Dakota (3-1, 1-0 Big Sky) on Saturday.
