Letter: Where Romney’s wrong

Published: September 24, 2012

Re: “Healthy skepticism” by Justin Ruhge, Sept. 21: To answer the author’s question: “What the heck could possibly go wrong?”

One thing would be if Mitt Romney became our nonsmoking president, he would lower taxes for our most wealthy while raising them on lower-income workers, thus widening the huge income disparity now shown.

He also wants to kill Medicare (incidentally including patients who would die unable to pay high medical costs); he disdains the 47 percent who pay no income taxes, whether because the wages for their hard work are too low or they are in the military suffering the casualties of war to protect the U.S. He would also modify (read destroy) Social Security.

The answer is complete.
