Thank you for sharing the Good News (Aug. 9) about Santa Margarita Schools Learning Among the Oaks Program.
As we begin our seventh school year, I want to heartily thank the many volunteers, teachers, staff, families and partner organizations whove contributed to our success.
It was a joy to be with youth conservation leaders, aka Oak Ambassadors Nathan, Emma and Carson at the state Capitol as they did a fine job representing their school and fellow Oak Ambassadors. Our slide show is available online at smcf.org (see Recent Photos page).
There isnt room here to list everyone but I want to give a hats off to the key partners: Santa Margarita Ranch owners Doug Filipponi, Karl Wittstrom and Rob Rossi; The Land Conservancy of San Luis Obispo County/Executive Director Bob Hill; and the University of California Cooperative Extension/ Program Co-Director Bill Tietje.
Our launch was supported by 2005-2011 grants from the California Wildlife Conservation Board.
Santa Margarita School is truly a special place for outdoor learning. Go Mustangs!
