Motorists can expect delays of up to 20 minutes on weekdays on Highway 1 north of Cambria through October, Caltrans has announced.
Crews will lay a seal coat on the pavement along the 23-mile stretch from Weymouth Street in Cambria to the Monterey County line.
One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
CalPortland Construction, Inc., of Santa Maria is contractor for the $1.9 million project.
