Letter: No leaders to show

Published: September 16, 2012

Karl Marshall’s Sept. 8 letter, “Where were leaders?” wanted to know why George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Dan Quayle, Dick Cheney, Sarah Palin, any Supreme Court appointee, Rush Limbaugh or Mike Huckabee were not asked to speak at the Republican Convention.

He was shocked that only Condoleezza Rice was given the nod. Well Karl, in answer to where were the leaders, it takes the Republicans a while — but they eventually figure out the ones they pick to run the country are not leaders.

They are embarrassed to have them around, so they press on to find what they think will be new leaders. To further make my point, wait four more years and you will not see either Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan on the stage in 2016.
