Blessing of animals in Paso Robles

Methodist Ministries of Paso Robles is hosting a Blessing of the Animals from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at 123 Dallons Road.

Animals must be in a cage or on a leash, or an article representing the animal (photo, blanket, etc.) may be brought. For more information, call 238-2006.

Gentle horse camp for kids in San Miguel

Adventures with Gentle Horses children’s summer camps will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22 and Oct. 20 at Heaven Can Wait Equine Sanctuary.

Children ages 4 to 12 will learn equine manners, safety and grooming. They will read to and walk the horses, create an art project and observe or participate with a gentle equine in a round pen event.

North County Barn tour to benefit HEET

“Behind Closed Gates” North County Barn Tour will feature tours of Vulcan Mesa Ranch, Templeton Farms, Windfall Farms and the Estrella Equine Hospital from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sept. 29.

The tour starts at Vulcan Mesa Ranch, 4500 Rocky Canyon Road in Atascadero. Snacks, refreshments and coffee will be served and there will be maps and directions to the other barns on the tour.

Cats and kittens adoption on Saturday

The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo.

Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet exam is included.
