Each day, dispatchers from the seven police departments in San Luis Obispo County take dozens of calls from residents seeking help for issues ranging from minor disputes to serious crimes. The Tribune provides coverage of serious crimes every day on its news pages. Here is alook at some of the other, more unusual calls as found in recent police logs from Paso Robles.

Having a crumb-y day 10:12 a.m. Aug. 26, 2300 block of Amber Grain Place A man called police from his neighbor’s house, saying he was having a problem with his wife. He said his wife was angry because he did not bring home doughnuts as planned.

It’s 911, not 411 8:45 a.m. Aug. 27, 900 Park St. A woman came into the police department and asked for assistance in finding her friend in Rhode Island.

Still illegal 9:44 p.m. Aug. 27, 800 Niblick Road Numerous people called police to say they heard gunshots near the high school. An officer said they were fireworks, as he saw them in the air during a traffic stop.

Save the drama 8:12 p.m. Aug. 28, 3200 block of Pine Street Someone called 911 and hung up. When dispatchers called back, they spoke with a 17-year-old who said her 10-year-old sister got mad at her over borrowing a shirt and called 911.

McAngry 1:44 a.m. Aug. 29, 2715 Black Oak Drive The McDonald’s lobby was closing, and customers were refusing to leave. The doors were not locked when they came in, but the registers had already been shut down. When the employees told the two customers they were no longer serving, the men became argumentative. The duo later left the business and may have gone through the drive-through, which was open.

Blame the skunk 11:36 p.m. Aug. 30, 3400 block of Spring Street A resident said she could smell drugs coming from the apartment below hers. Officers contacted the resident in that apartment, who appeared fine and had been sleeping.

Let that be a lesson 3:19 p.m. Aug. 31, 2340 Spring St. A woman said someone stole her wallet out of her unlocked, unattended vehicle while she was in a store. She then called back to say she found her wallet in the vehicle.

Welcome home 4:27 a.m. Sept. 1, 1200 block of Lana Street A resident said he came home and found a man in a pickup passed out in his driveway.
