9/11 gathering set for next Tuesday

Published: September 6, 2012

North Coast residents and guests will gather again on Sept. 11, 2012, to commemorate the sacrifices of those who died on that date in 2001.

This years’ service at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, is to be dedicated to Officer Brian Murphy, first on scene at the Sikh temple shooting in August.

North Coast hometown heroes also will be honored in Cambria’s 9/11 memorials, sponsored by the Sons of American Legion Post No. 432 and other community members.

All North Coast residents are invited to join together in a short, speechless ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Building flag stand, 1000 Main St.

The remembrance ceremony will be followed by the Sons’ free hot dog and hamburger barbecue and the legion Auxiliary’s salad bar.
