How appropriate that the thought for the day, “The most dangerous of all falsehoods is a slight distortion of the truth” should come on the heels of the GOP convention (Espresso, Sept. 1).

However, I would suggest changing the word “slightly” to “grossly.” One pundit used the words “pants on fire” to describe one of the speakers. That word could also apply to most of the speakers, particularly Mitt Romney’s VP choice. How any thinking person can absorb such inaccuracies is beyond my comprehension.
