I congratulate the people of the Central Coast.

Several issues including oil exploration and wastewater treatment have been in the news lately. Residents of the communities affected have truly risen to the occasion by writing letters, speaking out at public meetings and running for office — all to maintain and protect their quality of life for themselves and their children.

It has really been quite remarkable.

I am proud to be a citizen of San Luis Obispo County.
