The San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department and Police Department will host a bike-safety course for youngsters 4 to 14 on Tuesday at Emerson Park, 1316 Beach St.

The Bike Rodeo will include a bicycle safety course and a BMX stunt show. The course begins at 10 a.m., followed by a skills ride and bike parade at 1 p.m. Participants will receive a goody bag and a barbecue lunch.

Bike tune-ups and helmet fittings also will be offered. Children must bring a bike, a helmet and have a permission slip to participate.
