After 81 years in business, Davidson’s Furniture & Interiors in downtown San Luis Obispo is closing, according to a sign on its storefront. The Davidson family, who owns the building at 669 Higuera Street, declined to immediately comment.

According to previous Tribune reports, the business was owned by Bud and Wanda Davidson.

A seasonal Halloween store is moving into 6,400 square feet, or approximately one-third, of the Davidson building, for the next three months. Simply Halloween, affiliated with the store World of Magic in Santa Barbara, will offer a wide selection of costumes and Halloween décor, along with dressing rooms and a wig and mask bar.

Simply Halloween is co-owned by Tina Ho of Santa Barbara and Michael Hsieh, originally of San Luis Obispo. It will be open next week.
