San Luis Obispo police arrested a local man this morning on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Juan Montero, 47, of San Luis Obispo allegedly attacked Jose Martinon at approximately 4 p.m. Tuesday, just as Martinon was leaving his place of work in the 100 block of Suburban Road, according to a news release by the San Luis Obispo Police Department.
Montero made threatening comments toward Martinon and attacked him with a sharp-edged object, police said.
Martinon, who sustained superficial injuries, was able to fend off his attacker with the help of witnesses before Montero fled the scene in a vehicle, the news release said.
Police arrested Montero at 9 a.m. this morning in Oceano.
Hes currently being held at County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
