The Aug. 15 Tribune ran a story about the Save Atascadero group filing a lawsuit to stop the inevitable, council-approved and citizen-voted-for Walmart.
A majority of citizens voted for the Walmart; shouldnt that be the final word? Isnt that the democratic way? How much of our taxpayer money will be spent on fighting this frivolous lawsuit? How much time will be lost waiting for construction jobs and retail jobs? The estimate is one to two years. How long before one cent of tax money will be put into city coffers rather than spent on a misguided exercise in futility?
