Alleged gang member from King City arrested in Paso Robles shooting

Published: August 17, 2012

Paso Robles police have arrested a 21-year-old King City man in connection with a July 28 shooting at the Dry Creek Apartments in Paso Robles.

Rojelio Aviles was arrested Thursday at the Monterey County Jail in Salinas. Witnesses linked Aviles to the attempted murder of Luis Paulino Angel, 25, of Paso Robles. Angel was shot in the chest but is recovering from his injuries, police say.

Aviles is suspected of being a street gang member in King City. In a news release, police say they are also investigating the possibility that Aviles is linked to a July 28 gang-related double homicide in San Ardo.
