Letter: Community radio

Published: August 17, 2012

In an age where news and music are widely available, there are few things that distinguish a radio station as a local radio station.

With KCBX’s decision to shorten their community calender and now eliminate the county Board of Supervisors’ meetings, I feel they have lost touch with what makes a station a community-based station.

Without these very local programs, KCBX becomes just another outlet for news and music and not the community station that I have supported for all these years.

I encourage others to let their thoughts be known regarding these issues. There is no better way to get to know your elected officials than by listening to the way they conduct our business.
