Letter: A better plant site

Published: August 17, 2012

I agree with much of what Mr. Glen Albright says in his recent letter to The Tribune (Aug. 9).

However, I think he is wrong when he stated that the California Coastal Commission treated the issues at the Righetti site as negligible. I think the Coastal Commission’s position was that the issues at the Righetti site were not as serious as those at the site of the existing waste-water treatment plant.

I agree with this, but I think that there is an even better site. This is the existing treatment plant at the California Men’s Colony.

This site does not have nearby residents, has most of the necessary infrastructure, is barely visible from Highway 1 and has much greater potential for water reuse.
