Its official: Five candidates will compete in Novembers general election for two seats on the Pismo Beach City Council.
Pismo Beach City Clerk Elaina Cano confirmed today that local residents Erik Howell, a 17-year member of the Lucia Mar school board; and Sheila Blake, a retired airline supervisor, have qualified for the ballot.
They join three others: incumbent Ed Waage, a former emergency planning manager at Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant who lost his bid for San Luis Obispo County supervisor earlier this year; property manager DJ White, chair of Pismo Beachs Planning Commission; and Kevin Kreowski, a former agent with U.S. Border Patrol and now a business owner.
Pismo Beach Mayor Shelly Higginbotham is running unopposed for re-election.
Statements from each of the candidates have been posted on the citys website and are also available at the city clerks office at 760 Mattie Road.
