Filing for all four races for local elected boards were extended to Wednesday, Aug. 15, because at least one incumbent on each board didn’t file for reelection.

According to the county Election Division web-site, these candidates had filed by 11 a.m. Aug. 15 for seats on the boards that have seats up for election Nov. 6:

• Cambria Community Services District, three seats up for election: Directors Muril Clift and Gail Robinette filed, as did three of four applicants who sought a vacancy that Gail Robinette won in December: Tom Gray, Amanda Rice and Mike McLaughlin. The fourth applicant, Valerie Bentz, told The Cambrian she’d decided not to run in this election. She was a candidate in 2010.

• Cambria Community Healthcare District, three four-year terms, one two-year term: Board President Kristi Jenkins and Trustee Barbara Bronson Gray filed to retain their four-year seats. Nobody had filed to replace Trustee Greg Bates or for the two-year term.

• San Simeon Community Services District, three four-year terms, one two-year term: Directors Alan Fields, Leroy Price and Daniel Morris Williams filed for four-year terms; Vice Chairman Ralph McAdams and Mary Power Giacoletti are facing off for the two-year vacancy.

• Coast Unified School District Board of

Trustees, three four-year seats: Board President Cindy Fratto, Judith A. Hillen, Sue Nash and Jack Mettier filed. Current trustees Robert Gong and Victoria Dandurand hadn’t filed.

Steve Kniffen said he intends to register by Sept. 10 as a write-in candidate for both the Cambria services district and Coast school board races.
