Paso Robles man killed when he drives car into tree

A 22-year-old Paso Robles man was killed early today when the car he was driving went off South El Pomar Road and hit a tree, the CHP reports.

The crash occurred at 2:36 a.m. at El Pomar and Rancho roads. The driver was in a 2000 Toyota Camry driving at an unknown speed, said the CHP.

"Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor in this collision," said the CHP.

The man was not yet identified by authorities, pending notification of next of kin.
