A 43-year-old San Luis Obispo bicyclist suffered two broken legs Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a car, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

Thomas Stipicevich was traveling southbound on Santa Rosa Street near the intersection with Boysen Avenue when he was struck at 4:40 p.m. by a car traveling in the opposite direction, police said. He was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The driver, who wasn’t named, failed to see the bicyclist and struck him.

Drugs and alcohol were not involved in the crash, police said.
