On behalf of the Oswald family, I would like to extend our gratitude to those who participated, supported, volunteered, sponsored and donated to the first benefit fund for the Brett J. Oswald Iron Rodeo and Family Barbecue Day at the Templeton Park on June 30. The family members who participated encompassed a commendable affair, meeting people from up and down the state as far as Los Angeles, Bakersfield, Sacramento and the local community. We were fortunate to have been provided with beautiful weather, great raffle prizes, slow-drag races, a helicopter flyover, entertaining music and good food.

The family can’t thank each person enough, especially Nick Strauss and Lisa Rampenthal — founders of the benefit — for their outstanding time and hard work for the event. Everyone’s involvement in such a memorable time inspires the family to carry on Brett’s legacy.

You all devoted a great day to a wonderful man. Thank you all!
