Two drivers die in crash on Highway 46

A collision in the Templeton area killed the drivers of two vehicles after they crashed on Highway 46 on Saturday just before 5 p.m., according to the CHP.

The accident occurred when the driver of a westbound Lexus drove over the double yellow line in an attempt to pass the car in front of it.

The Lexus drove into the path of an eastbound GMC Sierra and struck the left front end of the SUV.

The driver of the Lexus was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver of the GMC died after being taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center.
