I am pretty sure if this gets printed I will hear about it. I get a bit curious and furious every time I see the commercial asking for donations for a shelter being built in Santa Maria for animals.
Make no mistake, I am not an animal hater, nor could I ever harm a dog or cat or stand by while someone else did, but I am curious why they are begging for a million dollars to complete this facility to house unwanted animals when there are all these men, women and children who are homeless and in need of a warm bed and it isnt even OK for them to sleep in their cars on the street. I am at a loss to understand this thinking and/or the outrage over the homeless facility planned for SLO to furnish 200 beds for the homeless. There, but for the grace of God, go I.
As for the commercial begging for a contribution of $19 a month to feed, house and provide medical assistance for pets how about showing some of the children trying to get showered, dressed and ready for school out of a car? It would make far more sense to me to contribute $19 a month toward helping them.
