The California Mid-State Fair Junior Livestock Auction was held Saturday.
All together, 668 hogs, lambs, steers and goats were sold by 4-H and FFA students. Unofficial estimates put total sales at more than $1.6 million.
The average price for hogs was $7.47 a pound, steers at $3.25 a pound and lambs at $11.51 a pound, an increase over last year.
