The Dude is coming to SLO.

Jeff Bridges, the Academy Award-winning actor who also plays music, will perform at SLO Brew on August 23.

The son of actor Lloyd Bridges, Jeff Bridges has been acting since he was a baby. But his first major role was in “The Last Picture Show” in 1971.

Other films have included “The Fisher King,” “Seabiscuit” and the cult classic “The Big Lebowski,” in which he portrayed the Dude. His band name — Jeff Bridges & The Abiders — is an homage to that role.

While he has performed music since he was a child, most of the public didn’t know until he portrayed a washed-up country star in “Crazy Heart,” in which he sang his own songs. The role also landed him an Academy Award.

Tickets for the show are $40 in advance and $45 at the door.
