Charlie Sharrer was 2 for 4 with a double, and starter Levi Shordon pitched into the seventh inning, but thats when it all fell apart for the San Luis Obispo Rattlers.
Avoiding a two-game summer collegiate baseball sweep, the Conejo Oaks had a five-run rally in the seventh and went on to a 9-4 win at Cal Lutherans Sparky Anderson Field on Wednesday.
Shordon struck out seven in 6 1⁄3 innings but walked four and was tagged with five runs, four earned, before the bullpen coughed up four more. The score didnt reflect the outing that he pitched, Rattlers manager Aaron Levin said. He got a lot of balls that were off the handle or off the end of the bat. They didnt really hit the ball hard at all. He pitched a great game.
Sharrer was the only Rattlers player with multiple hits, but Stephen Takahashi was 1 for 4 with a triple and an RBI for San Luis Obispo (30-15).
