SLO Rattlers rout Conejo Oaks for fifth straight win

The San Luis Obispo Rattlers scored 14 runs in the final three innings Tuesday to pull away from the Conejo Oaks for an 18-2 summer collegiate baseball victory.

The Rattlers (30-14) led 4-0 before scoring six runs in the seventh, three in the eighth and five more in the ninth to win their fifth straight game.

San Luis Obispo had 14 singles in their 16-hit attack. Dylan Candaele was 3 for 5 with two runs scored and three RBI, Marco Murillo was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Mark Velasquez was 2 for 4 with three RBI, Marc Flores was 2 for 5 with four RBI, Stephen Takahashi was 2 for 6 with three runs scored and Brian Brademan walked four times.

Along with the 16 hits, the Rattlers also collected 16 walks.

San Luis Obispo starter Travis Wilcox shut out the Oaks until the ninth inning. He gave up two runs, five hits and one walk while striking out six in 8 1⁄3 innings.
