As usual, this year’s summer Festival Mozaic features several concerts at venues throughout the county. Here are some of the highlights:

Opening night chamber concert, 7:30 tonight, United Methodist Church, SLO (Tickets: $29-$54). Celebrating the music of Bach and his influences, this concert will feature the vocals of mezzo soprano Karin Mushegain, who has performed at both the New York and Los Angeles operas.

Notable Encounter Brunch –From the Silver Screen to the Concert Hall, 11 . m. Saturday, PAC, Cal Poly ($65-$70). Pianist John Novacek will act as a guide as festival artists perform the music of Erich Korngold, who composed for films such as “The Adventures of Robin Hood” and “The Sea Hawk.”

The Baroque Landscape with the Festival Orchestra, Chapel Hill, Shandon, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, ($43-$63) With a scenic location, this picnic-style concert, conducted by musical director Scott Yoo, will feature Baroque works by Handel, Bach and Vivaldi.

Mandolins on the Fringe, 3 p.m. Sunday, See Canyon Fruit Ranch ($23-$49). Acclaimed German mandolinist Caterina Lichtenberg pairs with Mike Marshall in a performance that includes Brazilian, Bulgarian and bluegrass. Baroque at the Mission, 8 p.m. Tuesday, Mission San Luis Obispo ($29-$63). Paul Severtson will perform mandolin with the festival orchestra in the city’s most historic venue.

Artistry in Adversity, 6 p.m. Wednesday, Studios on the Park, Paso Robles ($27-$32). Violinist Dale Barltrop leads a string quartet in this tribute to Bedrich Smetana, an exiled Czech national who wrote “From My Life” after going deaf.

Immortal Masters, 7:30 p.m. July 20, Mission San Miguel ($29-$63). Performing in the historic and restored mission, the festival orchestra will perform Brahms, Mozart and Beethoven.

Moira Smiley and VOCO, 7:30 p.m. July 21, Cuesta College Cultural and Performing Arts Center ($29-$54). Local jazz singer Inga Swearingen joins Smiley’s harmony vocal project, which includes cello, banjo, accordion and ukulele accompaniment.

Grand Finale, 3 p.m. July 22, Cuesta College Cultural and Performing Arts Center ($29-$63). The festival orchestra closes the event with music by Brahms Erich Korngold and Strauss.
