About 250 bike riders took part in the 12th annual Gene Cerise Memorial Country Coast Classic Bike Ride on Saturday.
The ride, a fundraiser for the YMCA Cambria Teen Center, started and finished at Shamel Park in Cambria and raised approximately $25,000.
Riders had three routes from which to choose: 15, 50 or 100 miles. Participants included Mike Sarr of Bakersfield, a one-legged rider who pedaled the 50-mile route with his rescued one-eyed pug Bell in his bike basket.
One rider on the 100-mile route was pedaling downhill on Highway 46 when a boogie board flew out of the pickup truck in front of him and slammed into his face. He was unhurt except for a sore neck.
