Aaron Ashton hit a walk-off homer in the 10th inning his second homer of the game and the North County Indians beat the Fairfield Indians 5-4 in a summer collegiate baseball game on Sunday.
North County (14-1) rallied to win its 11th in a row. Trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth, Bryce Gerhardt walked to lead off the inning, stole second, then scored on Tanner Thompsons one-out single to tie the score 4-4.
Ashton also hit a game-tying two-run homer in the fourth inning and finished 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs. Louis Carlos earned the win with two perfect innings, striking out four.
Mike Livingston was 2 for 4 with a triple, and Brian Mundell was 2 for 4 for North County.
SLO RATTLERS 9, SAN DIEGO FORCE 8
The San Luis Obispo Rattlers jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the top of the eighth and then held off a furious rally to beat the San Diego Force 9-8 in a summer collegiate baseball game.
David Murillo came in with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the eighth and got out of the inning for the Rattlers. He pitched two innings, allowing a run and striking out four, and earned his first save.
Marc Flores was 5 for 5 with four doubles and three RBI and Michael Kathan was 3 for 3 with an RBI and three runs for the Rattlers (17-7).
MLB ACADEMY BARONS 4, SLO BLUES 3
The MLB Academy Barons scored four runs in the fourth inning and made it stand up in a 4-3 win over the San Luis Obispo Blues at SLO Stadium.
Trey Porter was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, and Patrick Quintanilla was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Blues (15-6, 10-4 California Collegiate League).
