They join an entertainment lineup that includes boy band Big Time Rush, country stars Brad Paisley, Eric Church and the Zac Brown Band, and classic rock acts Alabama and Journey.

Led by singer-songwriter Raul Malo, The Mavericks enjoyed their greatest success in the 1990s with hit songs such as “Here Comes the Rain,” “What a Crying Shame” and “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down,” a collaboration with Tejano accordion player Flaco Jimenez.

The band performs for free July 21 at the Chumash Grandstand Arena.

The California Mid-State Fair runs July 18 through 29 at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave. in Paso Robles. For more information, call 1-800-909-FAIR(3247) or visit www.midstatefair.com.
