Homeless Animal Rescue Team (HART) of Cambria is hosting a grand opening and ribbon cutting from noon to 5 p.m. July 3 for its new location. The event will include live music, shelter tours, refreshments and more. HART is located at 2638 Main St., Cambria. For more information, call 927-7377.

The Feline Network holds cat and kitten adoptions from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at Petco in the Madonna Shopping Center in San Luis Obispo. Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested and vaccinated. The adoption fee is $60 for one or $80 for two. A free vet exam is included.

Dogs and their owners are invited to “Goldens in the Park” from noon to 4 p.m. July 8 at Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo. The event includes dog events, vendor and food booths and is a fundraiser for Woods Humane Society and Animal Services Adoption Partners (ASAP). The event is free and open to all dog breeds. Adventures with Gentle Horses children’s summer camps will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. July 14 and Aug. 11 at Heaven Can Wait Equine Sanctuary. Children ages 4 to 12 will learn equine manners, safety and grooming.

They will read to and walk the horses, create an art project and observe or participate with a gentle equine in a round pen event.
