Counseling center expands to Paso

Published: June 20, 2012

The Community Counseling Center has expanded its services, opening a new office at 811 12th St., Suite 301 in Paso Robles.

The center is a nonprofit, community-based preventive-care organization staffed by state-licensed, volunteer therapists or graduate-level supervised interns. It’s been serving San Luis Obispo County since 1968.

Its primary purpose is to help individuals and families during times of transition, depression, anxiety, trauma and uncertainty.

It provides short-term psychological counseling services and psycho-educational information to San Luis Obispo County residents who are uninsured or can’t afford private services.

Fees are based on a sliding scale according to each client’s ability to pay. Ten therapists are currently operating at the new 2,300-square-foot facility that offers five individual counseling rooms.
