Forum set for tonight on Lillian Larsen access

Tonight at 7, the San Miguel School District will hold a public forum at Lillian Larsen School in the gymnasium to discuss changes in access to the school grounds.

The superintendent has gone door-to-door in the immediate neighborhoods, but it is important that everyone be aware of these changes. For information, call 467-3216, ext. 0.

Friday from 4 to 7:30 p.m. the San Miguel Lions will be serving a chicken barbecue at the Community Building on the alley in the park on K Street. For a donation of only $10 you get half a chicken, beans, salad, bread and dessert.

Sodas and water are extra. All proceeds will benefit their programs and projects.

The Lighthouse Community Church, on the corner of 13th and L streets, is offering free summer lunches to children from 2 to 18 years of age from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday until Aug. 20.

All children are invited to attend the Kid’s Power Ministry on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for fun, music and Bible lessons. Volunteers, the dedicated few, are still working on improving the outside of the church and other buildings.

On July 1, Linda Mora will celebrate the 25th anniversary of her Country Diner downtown with dinner starting at 4 p.m.

It seems as though we just celebrated the 20th, but that was already five years ago!
