The San Luis Obispo Rattlers split Monday’s summer collegiate baseball doubleheader at SLO Stadium, losing 6-1 to the California Wahoos in the opener before bouncing back and winning 9-3 over the Central Coast Wolf Pack in the second game.

In the first game, the Rattlers (12-6) fell behind 3-0 in the first inning, gave up 10 hits and committed five errors. The Rattlers scored just one run despite racking up 13 hits, with Marc Flores going 3 for 5 with an RBI, Charlie Sharrer hitting 3 for 4 and Mark Velasquez finishing with two singles.

Andrew Cox earned the win on the mound in a six-inning effort, and Davis Casciola added a double for the Wahoos. In the second game, the Rattlers put up three runs each in the first two innings to jump out to a 6-0 lead over the Wolf Pack and never looked back.

Marco Murillo got the win in relief after pitching five innings with five strikeouts. He allowed three hits, two walks and didn’t give up a run.

Flores also had his fifth homer of the season after finishing 3 for 4 with four RBI. Sharrer had three doubles and two RBI, and Michael Kathan had two doubles.
