Pismo Beach car show will bring street closures this weekend

Several streets in downtown Pismo Beach will be closed to through traffic on Saturday for the annual Classic at Pismo Beach Car Show.

Traffic is likely to be congested on southbound Highway 101 through Pismo Beach, according to a news release from Pismo Beach police. Price Street will be closed to through traffic between Bay Street and Hinds Avenue starting at 6 a.m.

Pomeroy Avenue from Price Street west to the pier parking lot will also be closed to traffic, as will Cypress Street at Main Street south to Stimson Avenue, and the 100 and 200 blocks of Hinds Avenue.

Some streets will likely be closed Sunday, particularly the 100 and 200 blocks of Pomeroy Avenue, the 600 block of Cypress Street and the pier parking lot.

The 27th annual car show usually attracts about 1,000 show vehicles and thousands of spectators. The event is free to the public. For more information go to http://thepismobeachclassic.com/.
