SLO County and San Francisco lead state in gas prices

San Luis Obispo County is tied with San Francisco for the most expensive gas in California, according to the latest AAA Fuel Tracker report.

In its daily review of the average cost of a gallon of unleaded gasoline, the auto club found the price here and in San Francisco to be $4.38 per gallon. Santa Barbara County came in next, at $4.36 per gallon. A week ago Friday, gas sold for $4.43 in San Luis Obispo County. A year ago, a gallon cost $4.17 in the county.
