A 28-year-old Greenfield woman pleaded not guilty to six criminal charges in San Luis Obispo Superior Court last week after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting two young girls in Paso Robles.

Eliana Ramirez, 28, entered her plea of not guilty to felony charges of attempted lewd acts upon a child, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and false imprisonment by violence, as well as to two misdemeanor charges of child molesting.

Police arrested Ramirez after investigating a report by the parents of two girls, ages 10 and 11. Ramirez reportedly didn’t know the girls or their parents but did know the homeowner “through a work relationship” and was visiting after a day of wine tasting, police said. She was allegedly intoxicated at the time of the incident.

The parents and children, whose names were not disclosed, told police the woman allegedly restrained, threatened and assaulted the girls in a bedroom where the youngsters were playing during a social gathering, police said.

Ramirez is free on $100,000 bail and is scheduled to return to court for her next hearing later this month.
