UPDATE: Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after reported assault in Los Osos

UPDATE: Sheriff's deputies arrested Michael VanHeuver, 23, on suspicion of attempted murder after responding to a report of an assault in Los Osos on Friday evening.

He was booked into County Jail.

ORIGINAL STORY: San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies have detained a man on suspicion of attempted murder after they responded to a call reporting an assault just after 5 p.m. today in Los Osos, according to a news release from the department.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 56-year-old woman victim unconscious on the floor of the residence located on the 1800 Block of Seventh Street.

She was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment. Her name was not released.

The suspect, whose name was also not released, has not yet been arrested but is being questioned. His age was given as approximately 22.
