64-year-old man hit by RTA bus in Paso Robles

A Florida man was injured Wednesday evening after he was struck by a Regional Transit Authority bus on the west side of Paso Robles.

Stephen Giles, 64, was taken to a local hospital with a serious head injury after the collision near the intersection of Eighth and Pine streets, according to a news release from Paso Robles police.

Giles was visiting Paso Robles from Lake Mary, Fla.

Police officers responded to the collision around 6:25 p.m. The investigation is ongoing, but police said there was no obvious indication that drugs or alcohol were associated with the cause of the collision.
