The Paso Robles Dog Jog will be Saturday in Paso Robles. Dogs can bring their owners for a 4k/2k run or walk through the Salinas River walk trail that starts and ends at the Kennedy Club Fitness in Paso Robles. The proceeds will benefit the new Sherwood Dog Park in Paso Robles.

Race registration is $20. Participants of the 4k/2k race will receive a racer’s goodie bag, an event bandana for their dog and a medal. 4k/2k race starts at 9 a.m. Race day registration starts at 8 a.m. This event will be held rain or shine. Dogs must be on leash for this event.

Spay discount extended

Due to generous outpouring of support, the Feline Network is able to extend its Spay Day certificate program through April. Cat spay/neuter certificates are available for individuals in need of financial assistance living in San Luis Obispo, the South County areas, Morro Bay and Los Osos. Certificates are currently not available for North County residents.

The certificates will have a value of $60 toward spay and $40 for neuter services an incentive for people to spay/neuter their cats before kitten season. These can be obtained by calling 549-9228, ext. 707. The certificates are accepted at all veterinary clinics in the county. The number of certificates is limited.

The Feline Network is also looking for volunteer trappers to humanely trap cats for spay and neuter in San Luis Obispo County. There is an active program for homeless cats in San Luis Obispo and the South County areas. For more information, call 549-9228 or visit www.felinenetwork.org  .

Photo sales help park

Kennedy Club Fitness in Paso Robles is exhibiting the Parks4Pups Best of Show 2011 through the month of March. The exhibit features the best photos from the 2011 Paso Robles Dog Jog and Dog Splash Days in Templeton. Proceeds from photo sales benefit Sherwood Dog Park and Vineyard Dog Park.
