The Paso Robles Police Department is investigating an allegation that a rape took place last week near a park in Paso Robles, the agency confirmed on Thursday.
Police said that a woman reported on Tuesday that about 7:30 p.m. Friday she was raped after she was walking home from dinner at a shopping center off Creston Road on the city's east side.
The woman's name and age were not disclosed because she is the purported victim of a sex crime.
The incident reportedly occurred at or around the area of Cedarwood Park, a plot of open space near the neighborhood along Cedarwood Drive and Creston Road, police confirmed on Thursday.
The woman described her attacker as a Hispanic man in his 20s with tattoos on his arms and torso and wearing dark clothing, police said. He reportedly ran away.
No weapons were involved, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.
