Drew Carey to attend SLO film festival, organizers say; Harrison Ford not likely to make it

Drew Carey, host of “The Price Is Right,” will attend this year’s San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, organizers confirmed.

Carey is scheduled to arrive Friday at Hearst Ranch’s private airfield in San Simeon, just in time for a special screening of “Citizen Kane” at Hearst Castle, festival director Wendy Eidson said.

“We are delighted to have Drew Carey join in on the fun,” she said.

Before the screening, Carey will join other celebrities and a few lucky festival attendees for a private tour of publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst’s hilltop mansion. He’ll also conduct a question-and-answer session with celebrity photographer Timothy White, who is receiving the festival’s newly created Spotlight Award.

“Cowboys & Aliens” star Harrison Ford was originally slated to attend Friday’s event.

“Unfortunately, it’s looking very unlikely he will be able to leave the movie he’s working on,” Eidson said in an email. “We had high hopes, and he really wants to be here, but I don’t think he’s going to make it.”

Meanwhile, “Men in Black 3” actor Josh Brolin is scheduled to stop by Thursday’s Sports Nite screening of the surf documentary “Finnsurf” at the Fremont movie theater in San Luis Obispo. Brolin, a former county resident, serves on the festival’s advisory board.
