Its said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But the heart may be the true visionary at the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services Shelter, where some of the loveliest homeless pets are those who are disfigured.
Go-Go is a wonderful example. Shes a 4-yearold spayed white cat whose delightful personality more than makes up for her unconventional good looks.
Go-Go is a charming kitty who loves to be petted and rewards such attention with purring, appreciative head bumps or gentle kneading. Shes a pleasure to pet because her coat is thick and wonderfully soft. Go-Go is content to be on her own but when she hears her foster mom coming, she runs to the door for a meet-and-greet.
Go-Gos not a chatty cat, though she will greet people with a meow and if you choose to meow back you may find yourself in a kitty conversation.
White pets, be they dogs or cats, are susceptible to skin cancer. With cats, that risk can be eliminated by keeping them indoors. Sadly, Go-Gos previous owner didnt appreciate this, so when Go-Go came to the shelter, it was necessary to remove the cancer growing on her ears.
Happily, Go-Go is now cancer-free and needing no special medical care. She is now looking for a lifelong indoor home.
Go-Gos full-moon face has its own beauty and, as her fur grows in, that beauty will also grow. If you are interested in meeting Go-Go, please contact her foster mom, Nicole, at 874-2142.
