Niner Wine Estates in Paso Robles will offer an Olfactory Evaluation of Wine class from 2 to 5 p.m. March 31.

At $125 per person, the event is open to both wine professionals and consumers who want to learn how to better analyze wine by its aroma.

Former perfumer Alexandre Schmitt gives courses at the Bordeaux Faculty of Enology, Institute of Vines and Wines Sciences in France.

The Paso seminar will cover identifying different aromatic compounds and perceiving defects in wine.
